Sabarimala is one of the important festivals of Kerela, which is dedicated to Lord Ayyappan. Celebrated between the months of November and January, the festival is celebrated at the Sabarimala Temple. The festival has great religious and cultural values and holds a special place in the hearts of the local people. The rituals performed during the festival are very pristine, hence people follow them with great respect and zeal too. Starting from the Makar Sankranti, there are 4 pujas conducted on the day followed by a special aarti in the evening. Neyyu Abhishekam takes place throughout the day that makes the temple laiden with the fragrance of desi ghee and making it a holy place.
