Located in Hansol that happens to be a part of northern part of Ahmedabad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVBP Airport) majorly serves the locals and also the residents of Gandhinagar. Having been named after our former Deputy Prime Minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Ahmedabad Airport is famed for its steel structure. The airport is among one of the largest airports of India and is spread over an area of 1124. In the recent times, the authorities have managed to inaugurate its fourth terminal also.
There are four terminals built at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
Terminal 1: This terminal is for the arrival and departure of all domestic flights. This terminal has been facilitated with WiFi facility and has a parking space for approximately 250 cars.
Terminal 2: Terminal 2 is the place where major and minor international flights arrive and depart. It also has 4 aerobridges and 32 check-in counters for various airlines at the terminals.
Terminal 3: Terminal 3 comes in use as a secondary terminal that is majorly helpful during Hajj Season. It has the capacity to accommodate up to 500 passengers during peak period.
Terminal 4: This terminal is majorly used for cargo purpose. Approximately 56% of international cargo is handled at this terminal.
