Located at a distance of 11 Kms south of the central business district of Atlanta, the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is commonly known as Atlanta Airport. It has been the world’s busiest airport since 1998, when compared with passenger traffic and by number of landings and take-offs since 2005. At present, there are 207 international and domestic gates at the airport. For the convenience of passengers, there are concourses at the airport.
All international flights are boarded from this terminal. Airlines like Air Canada, Air France, AirTran Airway, etc operate from here. These fly to cities like Paris, Toronto, Boston, etc.
There are two terminals within the domestic terminal. These are the South and North Terminal. Only one airline operates from the former terminal, while all other domestic flights are carried to the latter.
Flights carrying cargo are scheduled from this terminal. Airlines like Aerologic, Air France Cargo, Asiana Cargo, Cargolux, Cathay Pacific Cargo, etc operated from this terminal. Customs.
At present the international terminal has a new U.S.Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and immigration inspection station for all passengers arriving at the airport. It is situated at gates on Concourse F. The CBP inspection station at Concourse E, which was primarily installed is still functioning.
All passengers would pass through the customs at Concourse F and Concourse F depending on their arrival gates. They can then board their next flight to any other station and completing their visit to Atlanta.
All passengers who are based from Atlanta, U.S, and arriving at Concourse E will pass through a sterile corridor with moving walkways. This will further lead to the CBP area on Concourse F wherein processing and baggage claim can be made.
