Biju Patnaik International Airport, also referred to as Bhubaneswar Airport, happens to be the primary airport in the state of Odisha. It has been named after the former chief minister of the state, Biju Patnaik. He had a significant role in India’s struggle for freedom and was a trained pilot. The airport was launched as a domestic airport, but recently has been converted into an international airport and inaugurated by Navin Patnaik. At present, the airport has an average of 1000 domestic flights and 384 international flights during its peak hours. The airport is located approximately 3 kms from the airport.
Terminals
The New domestic Terminal T1
All domestic flights in India from Bhubaneswar Airport are operated from this terminal. Flights from here are operated to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Port Blair, Bangalore, Hyderabad and many more cities. The terminal area of domestic terminal is 18,240 sq.mt.
International Terminal T2
The terminal area for international terminal is 5177.50 sq.mts. The international terminal has a capacity of 200 passengers, whereas the capacity for domestic terminal is 400 passengers during arrival and departure.

Railway station is located at a distance of approximately 5 kms from the airport. It takes a marginal time of 15 minutes to reach the railway station from the airport. Facility of private taxis is also available from the stations to reach the airport.
