Jaipur International Airport, also referred to as Sanganer Airport by locals, happens to be the only international airport of Rajasthan and was given the status of international airport on 29th December 2005. The airport has flight connectivity with major Indian cities like Mumbai and Delhi and is managed by Jaipur Airport Authority that comes under the Airport Authority of India. The airport has a capacity to accommodate 14 A320 aircrafts and is a hub for airlines like Jet Airways, Air India, Go Air, Indigo, Spice Jet, Etihad Airways etc.
While the entrance gate of the airport is made of Dholpur stones and sandstone, the walls are adorned with Rajasthani paintings that give visitors a glimpse of the Rajasthani culture. Surrounded by palm trees, the terminal building has two fountains on each side that helps in maintaining normal temperature within the airport premises. An interesting feature of this airport is its electricity bills saving method of cooling. The transparent side walls of terminal have adjustable shades that help in controlling the passage of sunlight into the airport area.
Terminal 1(Domestic and International): It is used for both international/ domestic arrival and departure flights; has 16 check-in counters, 6 immigration counter, 4 custom counter and 4 security counter.
Terminal 2 (Domestic): This terminal is reserved for domestic flights only that run at regular intervals. It provides facilities like central heating system, central air conditioning, public address system, escalators, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV, car parking, check-in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) etc.
