Munich Airport is the international airport of Munich, the capital of Bavaria. It is the second busiest airport in Germany and the seventh busiest in Europe. It is is located 28.5 km northeast of Munich near the old city of Freising. The airport is the secondary hub of Lufthansa Airlines including lufthansa Regional and its Star Alliance partners.
The airport has two passenger terminals and two runways.
Terminal 1 is the older terminal and commenced operation when the airport was inaugurated on 17th May 1992. it can handle 25 million passengers and is divided into 5 modules, A, B, C, D and E. it currently handles all flights from airlines that are non- members of Star Alliance. Some of the major airlines operating from this terminal are Air Berlin, Condor, Emirates Airways, Air France, Delta Air Lines, British Airways, easyJet and Qatar Airways.
Terminal 2 is designed to handle 25 million passengers per year. It is a designated hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance. It does not have any modules and all facilities are arranged around a central plaza.
The airport is easily accessible by road and rail network from any part of the city.
Connectivity by train:
two trains depart from the airport to the city center in every 10 minutes. The The Flughafen (Airport) stop is just few steps away from Terminal 1 and 2.

several bus routes connect the airport to surrounding cities. The bus stop is in Central Area and just few steps away from Terminal 1 and 2. there are also transfer / limousine services o a large number of destinations around Munich Airport.
