Newark Liberty International Airport is an international airport which serves the Newark city in New York city area of United States of America. The airport is situated at a distance of 14 miles from Manhattan (New York City). Being opened in October 1928, Newark Liberty International Airport is one of the oldest airports in USA. If we combine Newark Airport with the other airports serving New York area, the largest airport network in terms of total flight operations in the world is formed. The Newark International houses 3 terminals which accomplish all the flight operations.
Terminal A has 27 gates to it. The terminal further branches out into three circular satellite buildings, namely A-1, A-2 and A-3. Terminal A is due for redevelopment and renovations in near future.
Terminal B is mainly used for international arrivals and departures. This terminal has 15 international gates in it. Following recent developments, Terminal B has been expanded up to three levels.
Terminal C was opened in 1998, it has a 3 level facility out of which two levels are used for departures. This terminal has a total of 59 gates to it.
Newark International Airport is served by different modes of transportation. Passengers can opt for public transport or individual transport facilities as per their convenience. All these transportation systems connect the airport to different parts of the New York City area. Let us take a look:
Public transport facilities like buses and trains are regularly available for passengers to travel between the airport and the city.
