The Bagdogra Airport is also known as the Civil Aerodrome Bagdogra and is situated 16 kms away from Siliguri in Darjeeling. It is so called because initially it was an airport base for Air Force and it has recently become an international as well as domestic airport. Although the nearest bus stand is 152 kms away from the airport yet there are a number of taxis and auto rickshaws one can avail outside the airport. These taxis and auto rickshaws are well connected by road to the major and minor cities.
The Bagdogra Airport is 17 kms from the Siliguri Railway Station that also happens to be the nearest source of commuting by rail.
