Belur is a small town in the southern state of Karnataka. It is around 200 km away from the capital state of Bengaluru. The city is famous for the wonder of Hoysala architecture styles. Chennakeshava Temple is the prominent temple in the city that reflects such architecture.
The temple is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Vishnu. Other examples of such temple architectures are Kedareshwara Temple, Kappe Chennigaraya Temple, and temples of the adjacent town of Halebeedu. Belur is best visited in the months of October to March as the climate at this time is moderate. A number of dining restaurants and stay accommodations are available in the town vicinity for easy travel.
