Bhilai, the city housing one of the biggest steel plants in India, Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL) is located in the in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh and is just 25 Kms to the west of Raipur. Previously, Bhilai used to be an isolated village till the year 1955, but at present, it is the second largest city of the state and has rich cultural heritage.
