Spread over an area of 340 square kilometres in Tinsukia district of Assam, Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is a hotspot destination among wildlife lovers. It is home to migratory birds (main attraction), feral horses and Gangetic dolphins. Identified as an Important Bird Area (IBA), the park boasts of having more than 382 species of birds including Greater Adjutant Stork, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Large Cormorant, Open bill Stork, Black necked Stork, Large Whistling Teal, Great Pied Hornbill, Marsh Babbler etc.

Some important points to be remembered before planning a visit to the park include:

  • Nearest airport is Dibrugarh Airport, 40 km from Tinsukia.
  • Best season to visit the park is from November to April.
  • Entry before sunrise and after sunset is not permitted.
  • Lodging facilities are available outside the park at Guijan Forest I.B. (advance booking is necessary).
  • Boat safaris are available.
