Dindigul is a famous city of Tamil Nadu located in the Dindigul district. It is famous for the processing factories of Tannery, Textile and many more. The city is well-developed with good infrastructure and other facilities. Dindigul city is an ancient city and known to be ruled by the different Hindu dynasties and later by Sultanates and the Britishers.
The prominent attraction of this city is the ancient Rock Fort that is perched on the top of the hill. It was constructed in 1605 by a Hindu King and later the fort was ruled by Tipu Sultan. After Tipu Sultan’s defeat by the Britishers, the fort came to be ruled under them. Apart from the Rock Fort, Arulmigu Kottai Mariamman Temple and Sri Abirami Amman Temple are famous attractions.
