Located close to Golconda Fort, these tombs are considered as the oldest in terms of Hyderabad’s history, culture and heritage. The Qutub Shahi empire flourished almost 170 years back and the tombs in-house the seven rulers of those times. Apart from them, some important people also find their place with the kings including Fatima Sultan, sister of Muhammed Qutub Shah and Husain Wali, the Sufi saint and founder of Hussain Sagar Lake.
Each tomb differs in size and surprisingly, the simplest tomb happens to be that of the founder of Qutub Shahi dynasty, Sultan Quli Qutub-ul-Mulk. Muhammed Quli Qutub Shah, the man who made Hyderabad has the most splendid of all tombs and is indeed awe-inspiring. The design and structure of all tombs reflect a blend of Persian, Indian and Pathan form of architecture.
