Visit Tanah Lot Temple
Tanah Lot Temple is a signature temple of the 15th century in Bali, Indonesia. It is located in Beraban Village and is accessible from Denpasar within 20 minutes. The temple was built by Dang Hyang Nirartha, a Hindu priest from East Java.
Legend has it that the high priest turned his sash into sea snakes to protect the temple. The tour inside the temple is prohibited but the panoramic views outside are worth experiencing. During the low tides, you can encounter the sea snakes while crossing the rocks. Get around during the Kuningan and Galungan festivals or in colder seasons. The coastal sites outside the temple are filled with shops and restaurants. This temple is an ultimate attraction to witness the culture and history of Bali.
