Visit Uluwatu Temple
Uluwatu Temple is the famous temple of Bali. The ancient Balinese Hindu temple is located at a magnificent height of 70 metres on a steep cliff in Pecatu Village. The temple is faced in six directions and overlooks the beautiful Indian ocean.

It is believed that a hermit constructed this temple among other thousands of temples to protect the lands from evil and later attained enlightenment. The locals worship the deity Shiva Rudra whom they believe the three gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva became one at this temple. Wearing a sarong or a scarf is necessary before entering. The famous Kecak dance-play (paid) is performed every evening that replays the Ramayana (Hindu holy text). Make sure to visit this place in colder months (July-August), especially during sunset. And yes, beware of monkeys, they are feisty and steal things but can trade possessions for food.
