Visit National Museum of Colombo
National Museum of Colombo is a perfect destination for history buffs as well as children. It was established in 1877 and is the country’s biggest museum containing Sri Lankan history, ancient manuscripts, and statues.
Inside the museum, you will encounter the magnificent throne of the King of Kandy (Vimaladharmasuriya II), crown jewels, palm leave manuscripts in Sinhala, Tamil and Burmese languages, Buddha statues, and many more. The museum requires an entry fee and open on all days except the national holidays.
