Visit National Museum
National Museum is an important landmark in the capital city of Indonesia. The museum highlights Indonesia's history, geography, archipelago and civilisation. It is located in Central Jakarta to the west of the National Monument.
The museum is also known as the Elephant House because of the bronze elephant statue situated in the front yard. The collection of the museum extends to rich heritage textiles (some woven with gold threads), puppets, gold treasures, jewellery, coins and pots from the Majapahit Kingdom, year old statues and many more. You can easily avail the free English tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Other languages offered in the tour are Korean, French and Japanese. Confucius Day and other contemporary festivals are held frequently for visitors.
