Visit Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is a famous Hindu temple located on the banks of Bagmati River that later connects to the holy river Ganges. This is also listed as a UNESCO Heritage site. This temple prays to Lord Shiva. Interesting fact about this temple is that there are open ghats that follow open cremations just below the temple, nearby the river bank.
In the vicinity, there are several ashrams and temples that create a unique aura with incense sticks and temple bells’ noise. With surprising legends and tales about this temple, this is indeed one of the holiest temples of Nepal. The entry to non-Hindus and foreigners is paid and they can tour the premises and other small shrines but entry to the main temple is restricted. During the festival of Maha Shivaratri, this temple sees a lot of crowds, yet it is favourable to visit any time of the year.
