The most fascinating feature of the Padmalaya Shree Ganapati Peeth is that it houses the idols of two Ganeshas in its sanctum. Both the self-existent Ganeshas or Swayambhus are seated on the same dias or 'Vyaspeeth' and are known asAamod and Pramod. Together they have earned the name'Prawal Ganesh'. One idol has its trunk to the right while the other has it to the left. It is located atop a hill and has a number of Ganapati temples surrounding it.

  • India has two and a half Ganapati Peeths and Padmalaya Shree Ganapati Peeth is regarded as its half entity.
  • Adjacent to the sanctum is a hall which houses a 5ft tall stone-carved mouse.
  • A huge bell weighing ~440kg, made of five metals hangs in the temple. When rung its sound can be heard as far as 10km away from it.
  • An enormous stone grinder of 3.5ft radius is present. It is believed that even 8-10 well-built adults cannot move the grinder.
  • The remnants ofPandav Wada can still be seen here.
  • The legendary Bhimkund lies close-by to the temple.
