The 27th Mountain Division of Indian Army is placed on the suburbs of the town. The town was once under the reign of Bhutanese kings till 19th century and the Bhutanese Army afterward. How to Reach Kalimpong
A scenic tranquil hill station in the state of West Bengal, Kalimpong is around 3 hours drive from both Darjeeling and Siliguri. Our booking is on 24th June. but now the situation critical there. Should we go there,will we get any cab from siliguri to kalimpong?

yes you can get cabs from siliguri to kalimpong.. but as you know the situation is not good there so i suggest you not to go there for now.. instead you can go to gangtok and nathula pass..
