Nestled in the serene Kumaon region, Kashipur is located in Udham Singh Nagar district of the state Uttarakhand and is one of the vital places of pilgrimage. The city was known as Govishan or Govisana in the period of Harsha in 606–647 AD when Xuanzang visited this region in 631–641 AD. The place is situated at a distance of only 80 Kms from Nainital and is regarded as one of the beautiful spots to absorb the beauty of nature.
