Nestled in the Western Ghats in the state of Maharashtra, Khandala is considered as a twin hill station of Lonavala. It is situated 70 kilometres from the city of Pune and 5 kilometres from Lonavala. The important tourist attractions of Khandala are Rajmachi Fort, Tiger’s Leap, Karla and Bhaja Caves, Amrutanjan Point, Bhushi Lake and Duke’s Nose.
The weather is pleasant in Khandala throughout the year. But the ideal time to visit is in the months between October and May. A walk through the beautiful valleys and a view of the breathtaking scenery of the hills is every traveller’s dream. It is a perfect getaway to spend the weekend in solitude from the hustle and bustle of city life. The nearest airbase is situated in Pune and the railway station is in Lonavala.
