It was built in 1841 and is located between the Water Gate and the St George's Gate of the Fort William. People visiting this place especially during the evening often enchant the beams of light arraying on the Vidyasagar Setu. A boat ride on the River Hoogly is also an ideal activity in Princep Ghat. Its vicinity also maintains illuminated and landscaped gardens and pathway, fountains and renovated ghats.
