History speaks for itself in the marvellous Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajasthan. This unsurpassable fortress is second only to Chittorgarh in importance and lands a famed position for bearing the second-longest wall in the world. Located at a distance of 64km from Udaipur, the Kumbhalgarh Fort stands gracefully under the protective backdrop of the Aravali ranges.

The fort is engulfed by thirteen elevated mountain peaks and its fortifications, palaces, gardens and temples render it absolutely magnificent. The impassable Kumbhalgarh Fort is designed with seven enormous gates, seven ramparts folded with one another with designed walls that have been strengthened by curved bastions and gigantic watch towers. More than 360 temples can be seen within its premises with the Shiva Temple being the most prominent of them all for its enormous Shivlinga. In contrast to the sombre colour of the fort stands the resplendent Badal Mahal atop it which is famous for being the birthplace of Maharana Pratap. The palace is an amazing blend of green, turquoise and white hues which offers unparalleled vista of the town beneath.

  • The fort is located at a height of ~1,914m above sea level.
