The edifice was designed by the British architect, William Emerson and shows Moorish, Gothic and Flemish architectural influences. The complex is so designed that maximum sunlight is allowed inside during the daytime. One of the main and interesting features of the place is the Clock Tower. Constructed with Kurla Stone and Red Stone, the marketplace is embellished with murals, paintings and pictures of Indian farmers. One can shop to one's heart content by choosing from products spanning from fresh fruits, vegetables, imported foods, meat, poultry, bakery products, home-made chocolates, cake products to jewellery, travel bags, cosmetics, household items, shoes and belts. Dogs, cats, birds along with endangered species are found here as well.
