The Worli Fort in Mumbai, overlooking the Mahim Bay, is one of the forts that was built during the colonial era. Originally built by the British around 1675 but it is said that the Worli Fort was built by the Portuguese. Much of the fort is in ruins today and a slum has enveloped the edifice, making it a den for illegal activities like the brewing of illicit liquor within its confines. One of the major nearby attractions is the ‘Bandra Worli Sea Link’ that can be viewed clearly from the Worli Fort in Mumbai.
