One who is willing to reach Ooty by train has to opt Mettupalayam, which is 47 km away from Ooty whereas Coimbatore and Chennai acts as the busiest railway stations that connects Ooty via Mettupalayam. Mettupalayam and Conoor are connected to Ooty with toy trains.
The Chennai International Aiprort, Cochin International Airport and the Bangalore International Airport are the closest airports from Ooty. Whereas international flights from New York to Bangalore and other international cities connects Ooty via Bangalore Aiport, which is the closest International Airport. Mysore Airport is the closest domestic airport that connects Ooty by air to rest of India. There are scheduled flights from Kolkata to Mysore and flights from Delhi to Mysore.
