Patna originally known as Pataliputra is the capital and the largest city of Bihar. The name Patna is derived from the word ‘Patan’, the name of a Hindu goddess Patan Devi. It was the capital of the ancient Maurya and Gupta dynasty.
It is the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Govind Singh hence is one of the important religious places for the Sikhs.
