Puttaparthi is a small town in the Anantapur district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a holy abode of the spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba. Earlier known as Gollapalli, this town is situated on the banks of the Chitravathi River.
The main attraction here is the Prashanthi Nilayam which means ‘the abode of highest peace’. The complex of Prashanthi Nilayam comprises of temples, post office, canteen, bakery, kitchens, dining halls, guest houses, and dormitories. It also has a “Darshan Hall” where the saint Sai Baba visited his devotees. Among the tourist attractions to visit in Puttaparthi includes Chaitanya Jyoti Museum, Sanathana Samskruti Museum, Shivalayam, Lord Dattatreya Temple, Gopalaswamy Temple and many more.
