Srisailam is a holy town situated on the banks of the River Krishna in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. It is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site and is visited by a number of devotees every year.
The town is famous for Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Temple which is dedicated to the Hindu deities Shiva and Parvati. The temple is recognized as one of twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and as one of the eighteen Shakti Peethas of Goddess Parvati.
