Formerly known as Ganapathipuram, Sulthan Bathery is an ancient town which is located in the state of Kerala in Wayanad district. The place was previously known by the name of Sulthan's Battery after Tipu Sultan of Mysore had occupied the region and used the Jain temple, located here as a battery during the 18th century. It is one of the largest towns in Wayanad District.
