Tezpur Travel Guide
Known as the “Cultural capital of Assam”, the name Tezpur is derived from two words “Tez” meaning Blood and “Pura” meaning Land. Situated in the northern banks of the Brahmaputra this town is blessed geographically with plains and mountains.
Kolia Bhumura Setu which is 3015 metres long is the connecting route to Tezpur from the Nagaon district of Assam. Most places worth seeing in Tezpur speaks of history like the manmade hill of Agnigarh, Chitralekha Udyan or Cole Park, Mahabhairav Temple, Bhairavi Temple, Nag Shankar Temple and Nameri National Park in the outskirts of the town.
