Thiruchendur is a coastal town in the Thoothukudi District of the state Tamil Nadu. This pilgrimage site is famous for the Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple. This temple is considered as one of the 6th sacred temples of the Lord Murugan. Other attractions include Thiruchendur Beach, Thiruchendur Arch, Valli Cave Temple and more.
The best time to visit this city is in the winter months of November to February. There are a lot of South-Indian and multi-cuisine restaurants in the city to dine. Do try the South-Indian meal on the banana leaf in any of the restaurants. The mega festival of Brahmotsavam takes place twice from August to September and from February to March. Devotees from different places of South India come and celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm. Thiruchendur is a well-developed city with all sorts of vehicles available.
