The city of Tirupati is located in the foothills of the Eastern Ghats in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Tirupati is one of the sacred places of the Hindu pilgrims because of Sri Venkateshwara Temple which is dedicated to the Lord Vishnu.
This magnificent temple of Lord Vishnu is situated on one of the seven peaks of the Tirumala Hills. Other major tourist places to visit are Chandragiri Fort, Govindraja Swamy Temple, Kapila Theertham Falls, Sri Venkateshwara Zoological Park, Tiruchanur Temple and many more. Gangamma Jatra and Sivari Brahmotsavam are the famous festivals which are enjoyed with great enthusiasm. Sivari Brahmotsavam that comes in the months of September and October receives lakhs of pilgrims from different parts of the country. The best time to visit is in the months of November and March. The cuisine here is mostly Indian among other continental dishes.
