Tiruvannamalai is one of the holiest destinations in the Tamil Nadu state. This holy town overlooks the beautiful hill, Arunachala. It is famous for the holy Shiva Temple, Arunachaleshwar Temple. The Hindu Lord Shiva is worshipped as the fire incarnation of the god Shiva. The temple is sprawled across 23 acres with nine towers and one Rajagopuram that is eleven stories high.
Apart from the temple, there are other attractions that include Ramanar Ashram, Seshadri Ashram, Sathanur Dam, beautiful gardens, crocodile farm, and more. Adventure and nature lovers can also hike to the Mt Arunachala. Do visit in the months of November or December to witness religious festivals like Karthigai Deepam Festival and Girivalam.
