Trimbak is a town situated in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. The town is famous for the Trimbakeshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that has one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of the country. Built in the 18th century, it is located between three hills – Brahmagiri, Nilagiri and Kalagiri.
Kushavarta or kund (a sacred river), the source of Godavari River, which is in the temple premises is another attraction of the place. Gorakhnath Gufa, Anjanaeri, and Dugarwadi Waterfall are other attractions to visit. The months between November and February are favourable months to visit. Nashik Railway station is the nearest railway station from Trimbakeshwar. Bus service is available from the major cities, or one can hire a taxi according to their preference.
