Goa Carnival 2017
Started in the 18th century, the Goa Carnival is one of the famous festival of state that witnesses a plethora of fun-filled activities, parades and numerous options for entertainment. It marks the starting period of abstinence of Lent that was started by the Portuguese. During this carnival, the streets of Goa can be seen filled with colourful dresses, happy faces and lively ambience. Introduced by the Portuguese, this carnival has a special place in the hearts of residents of Goa, especially the Goa Tourism Development Corporation. The event continues for 4 consecutive days that covers a wide range of vivacious parades, singing and dancing events that make the city a wonderful place. The message behind this carnival is to Eat, Drink & be Merry. It is one of its kind carnivals that takes place in India, especially Goa and yet becomes one another good enough reason to visit the favourite and easily approachable destination. It will be held from 25-28th February this year with the same enthusiasm and glee as it has been done since the last so many decades.
