United Arab Emirates Travel Restrictions

ELIGIBILITY & VISA REQUIREMENT FOR UAE:

FOR DUBAI

  • Effective 30th Aug’21, travel is open for all type of visa holders from India.
  • From 23rd June, 2021, all UAE residency visa holders travelling to Dubai must carry a vaccination certificate, issued and approved by relevant authorities in UAE.

  • FOR ABU DHABI
  • UAE residents who are fully vaccinated with both doses administered in the UAE at least 14 days before travelling

  • FOR SHARJAH
  • Fully vaccinated residents can travel 14 days after taking the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the UAE, provided they hold the vaccination certificate issued by the health authorities. The certificate must also be on the Al Hosn App (mandatory to download)

  • FOR THE REST OF UAE
  • Travel open for UAE nationals, diplomatic passport holders, official delegations and holders of UAE golden visa.

  • RTPCR TEST, QUARANTINE & VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:

    FOR ABHU DHABI
  • MANDATORY negative COVID-19 PCR test report (with QR code), conducted 48 hours before departure AND a rapid test 4 hours before flight departure. They must also take a test on arrival at the airport and another on day 8 of quarantine.
  • Children under 12 and passengers with disabilities are exempted from above.
  • All travellers must quarantine for 12 days and wear a medically approved wristband (provided by immigration authorities) during the quarantine.

  • FOR DUBAI
  • MANDATORY negative COVID-19 PCR test report (with QR code), conducted 48 hours before departure AND take a rapid test (PCR only) within 6 hours of departure. Must take another test on arrival at airport. UAE nationals do not have to take the 2 pre-departure tests but they must take a test on arrival
  • All travellers (except UAE citizens and diplomats) must quarantine at residence/hotel till their PCR result is out.

  • FOR SHARJAH
  • MANDATORY negative COVID-19 PCR test report (with QR code), conducted 48 hours before departure AND take a rapid test at the airport before departure. Must take a test on arrival at the airport. UAE Nationals and children below 12 years are exempt from the test.
  • No quarantine if on-arrival test is negative

    Q: Is there any restriction on the vaccinations?

    A: Vaccination should be approved by WHO and passengers should have completed a period of 14 days after the last dose.

    Q: Is there any pre-registration or app requirement?

    A: All passengers must download and register on the ALHOSN app and DXB Smart app.

    Q: Do UAE residents need to get ICA approval?

    A: All UAE residents with valid residence visa must register on the ICA Smart UAE app or visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae for ICA approval. The approval should be issued on or after 5th August, 2021.

    Q: What are the UAE travel restrictions for partially vaccinated passengers?

    A: Passengers who have not received both doses of the vaccine, 14 days prior to arrival, will NOT be allowed to travel.

    Q: What is the UAE travel advisory for students?

    A: Students who are currently studying in the UAE (whether vaccinated or not) are allowed to travel.
