Satsam Paro (opposite Tigers Nest Resort)
The view from this place is amazing! You can see Tiger's Nest and the base camp is around 4km away. We stayed here for 3 nights as we had some work at Paro and also had to complete the trek which was part of our itenary. The location is not the best as it is quite far from the main city, 9km, but shared taxis are always available on the roads and cost Nu 50/person. If you are looking for a place outside the city then you may consider this place, but do read the issues I have mentioned below. We were a group of 3 people and they provided us with a Double room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed with a Mountain View. The room was quite clean when we entered but the bedsheets had a lot of lint which could be easily seen on black pants. You might want to ask them to change the bedsheets if you see this. They provided 2 pairs of rubber slippers which was a nice touch. The toilets could have been cleaner but they were not dirty or smelling. They do provide Room service but there are very few staff on the property as it's comparatively new (as told to us by our taxi driver). The Manager is hardly to be seen and hence we had very less interaction with him. Things you need to know: 1. WiFi is a big issue here. On our first day here, the wifi was not working and after checking with the manager, he said that due to rains the previous night he had to check with the Telecom company to get it back up. We waited patiently the entire day and the wifi was up only around 7pm, i.e. after constant calls and questions regarding the same. The next morning again the wifi was down and we notified the staff. They told us that they will ask the manager and then later told us that the manager is speaking to the Telecom company. We were out the entire day and returned in the evening but there was no WiFi yet. Even after constantly asking for an ETA, we got the same answer that the Manager is talking to the telecom company and it will be up soon. We could not do much and slept on it. When we woke up on the 3rd day the issue was still not resolved and kept telling the staff about how WiFi was the only way we can contact our families. But as the staff is not really aware of the issue and the manager is not on the property, they all seemed useless at that point to us. We had to call up the Manager and ask him to get it fixed ASAP as we are paying good money for the place. Within 15 minutes the Wifi was up and he called us to let us know. I'm not sure where the disconnect is or what is cooking behind the scenes with regards to the Wifi, but if you are dependent on it, I do not recommend this place at all. 2. There were many flies in the room when we first entered. We did drive them away, but because its close to the fields, we did see them popping up again out of nowhere. 3. The kettle that was provided in the room had a Maggi Masala smell to it and when we boiled water (to test it out), the water too smelled the same. The staff were kind enough to change the kettle for us and provide us with a new one immediately when we told them. So, you might want to smell the kettle before you make the water hot. 4. If you are opting for complimentary breakfast with the room, think again. The food here is tasty and good no doubt, but the breakfast is very limited. Limited to 1 dish per person in the room. This does not include Tea/Coffee or any other beverage. As we expected a breakfast to be buffet style, we were quite disappointed when we seen this. The Breakfast menu is also limited to only 5 items. Sometimes, bread is out of stock and that limits your options further. 5. Food service is very very slow here. Please be prepared to wait at least an hour for your food. This includes your morning breakfast too. It does not help even if you order your breakfast the previous night as we received it an hour later than the time we asked for. There were other guests who were given preference before us even after telling them that we had to check out at 7:30am and wanted the breakfast latest by 7:15am. We got our breakfast at 8:10am. Not Cool. We missed the bus and had to spend more money to hire a taxi. Shout-out to Pema who was a complete delight during our stay. She works at this place and is very sweet and helpful.

Hotel is located 9 km far from Paro City & Market. Hotel has a nice view of the Tiger Nest Monastery and is very close to the base of the Tiger Nest Monastery trek. Breakfast was alright and the rooms are uneven since a few room they have are spacious whereas others are really small. We got one room which was quite spacious and other was really small considering we had booked it for 3 person. We didn't get two rooms which can accommodate 3 person and instead got 1 room for 3 people and other which was a double bed and it was a lil tough to accomodate 3 people in small room.
A good , economic with very good staff . They have two types of room , A big family 3 beded room 4 persons can accommodate in it with mountain and tiger nest veiw and other small 2 beded room . Both the rooms r good , neet and clean. They have parking space also, which we can not find in other market hotels and we have to pay Rs 20 per hr. I think it's a good deal for those who wants to visit Tak sang Monestry (Tiger nest). It is far away from city or market.
we had a really really great stay in the hotel. we stayed for 3 days out here. the room was really big with 3 bed space, with all amenities and everything was working properly including wifi. the food is reallly tasty out here. The main attraction is the view from our room...wow that was amazing. the room is bit far from the town...but the tiger nest is just 3.5 km away from the room. and the staff service was really good.. Thanks Aloot Guys..
The hotel has a laid back nice vibe to it . Simple and quiet . Food was good . Rooms were nice and a heater too . Bathrooms had geyzer so hot water was there forr showers . View of the tigers nest along with paddy fields were a sight to watch for . Staffs were cordial and helpful . Basically i had a great time here . Hike to ttaksang was awesome and when we needed extra mattresses and blanket they provided that too .
Overall it was a very horrible stay, it was a one-storey building so it was not comfortable to stay there, the location of the property was not good as it was on outside of the city, also the services that they provided was not good, also the staff of the property was very limited, the food that I had tried at the property was also not so good as per my expectation, I will not recommend this property to others.
we reached here late night, so they didn't have us extra bed even we booked for three people, and we tried to contact on the reception guy for a long time, we can't find a reception here, we were stuck at hotel gate for more than 45 minutes!! they didn't pick up the phone... finally we got him.. but he didn't have us extra bed.. even we paid for it!!! and we got a small room for three people!!!
It was a very good stay adn very good hotel, Staff was helpful and kind and swervices were good. people are really nice there. Parking space id not enough big but it was not that big issue. food was really good there and indian food was available and it was good. View from the hotel was really good we can see the tigher nest from there.
Experience was really bad, room was very small, you cant adjust 3 people there.. our booking was for 3 people double room mountain view, forget about mountain view they have provided singel room with one small bed comfortable for 2 people. They told all rooms given to other traveller, how they can give it if it's booked prior.
The property is located in the prime location from where most of the tourist attractions are nearby. The stay felt almost home-like since going out and returning back was as per my own convenience.Free wifi/internet facility was an added advantage for me as I could stay connected across the globe.
The room was cosy, very homely, clean and well maintained with a nice view. We could easily see the tiger's nest situated at an altitude. Hot water and heater were provided. Wi-Fi was not good. Food quantity and quality both were bad. Overall stay was good but food was not good at all.
The location of the property was fine, the staff of the property was cooperative, the services that they provided was ok but not good as per my expectations, the breakfast that i had tried there was fine but it was not complimentary, overall 3-star rating for the entire stay.
The location of the property was beautiful but it was not accessible easily, the services that they provided was good and satisfactory, the staff of the property was fine and cooperative, only the problem was with the wifi that it was not working properly.
This was a good experience, the location of the property was good and accessible easily, the staff of the property was friendly and cooperative, also the services that they provided was ok, overall it was recommendable property to others
Good location only 3 km from Tiger nest base camp at a decent price. Rooms are really big. Those who are planning to hike tiger nest can stay here for the night and then start hike from here in the morning.
we had a Amazing stay at the hotel. the view was great, the room was great, the hotel staff were great..everything was perfect for our honeymoon. and yes the food was great too.
Friendly Staff, clean, well furnished rooms , 24hr wifi , Heater , good food ,Close to Takshang Monestry and city too with road side location.
It was fantastic to stay in view point lodge The seenario from the room window was too much beautiful and the staffs are very helpful.
It was pleasant stay in View Point Lodge, Restroom needs improvement. Foods are overrated compare to it's quality and quantity.
