Hampi is a perfect weekend getaway. Lot of cool cafes to chill out. Baba cafe resort provides lodging as most of the cafes do in Hampi. I personally liked the fact that the cafe was a little away from the town. If you rent a two wheeler it shouldn't be a problem to commute to the famous German bakery and all other cool cafes. Also the good thing about baba cafe was that since it was on main road, we visited the Hanuman temple (must visit climbing 550 steps is an experience in itself and it is the best place to see the sunset). Also the Sanapur lake is a must visit. The lake is huge and surrouded by rocks on all sides. Breathtaking view . Also do not forget to take the coaracle ride in this lake. Coming back to the baba cafe, we loved the service and friendly environment. They were even willing to adjust the dates for us. Not many cafes wud do that. Also we had booked a tent and shifted to the hut which they agreed to without any hassle. Only paid a marginal Rs 300 difference amount. Cafe has friendly staff and very well maintained. Thanks to Amrish Gowda and Mani for the pleasant stay. Loved the hospitality ❤️

Pros - The location of the resort is excellent. Picturesque and serene, it is near a tributary of the Tungabhadra river. The lounge is excellent with comfortable arrangements to stay and chill as long as you require. The food was great for the most part and the variety of choices is also commendable. The bath water which comes from the river directly was very refreshing. Cons - The bath/rest rooms were horrible. Small and dingy, it was very difficult to complete the morning formalities. Also there are only two western loos for a resort that can house at least 50 people. The service was not good at all. We booked 3 double sharing tents but were given 2 tents, one was a 3 sharing and the other 2 sharing. The 2 sharing tent is really small and not at all convenient for 2 good sized people. The person at desk was impolite and although the check in/out is at 12 we got the tent only at around 01:30 PM and were asked to vacate by 9 in the morning next day. Staff behavior is the only thing that would stop me from availing this resort again in future.

What should I call this property - a home stay, a resort or a lodge? A camp would be better term considering temporary nature of the property. I reached the property at around 7.30pm riding 280 km from my native place. Easy to find, just a stone through away from famous Anjandri Hill, on Anegundi-Virupapura Gaddi road, the camp is located in a scenic place. As it is next to Tungabadra river, I could hear chirping of crickets and croaking of frogs. I lived in a thatch / cottage. The bed was comfortable and just enough for a sound sleep. Amenities are very basic. They do have tents. Restaurant is a good place to relax. Lively music, tasty food and chilled beer. Definitely good for short stays and when you wish to experience something very different from routine. I had a good conversation with Maruti and Mahesh at the camp. They are very friendly and provided information that I needed. Silent place Good Restaurant Chilled beer!

This place is just woww, a perfect stay to completely relax, untangle all your worries. A perfect stay by the river, get up to the most beautiful sunrise, you are just a few meters away from the peaceful river aura, you meet some awesome people from across the globe, the cuisine was quite exhaustive. And no network coverage, was such a huge relief. A perfect stay!! You get to know yourself so much more, don't have to worry about absolutely anything. You learn how to take care of yourself, how to spend your time, away from technology and rush of life.

The property was well situated/located, and it was pretty convenient for me to reach here without any hassle. The river was near to the place. The best thing about our stay was delicious food at in house restaurant. No such refreshments were offered to me at the time of check in. The hotel lacks separate kitchen, the only drawback I faced during my stay. I found no swimming pool in the hotel. I expected at least free wifi/internet at the property, but it lacked heavily on the connectivity part. rover

This place is lovely as it is on the banks of river Tungabhadra and also the sight of hills are pleasant. Had booked a tent. It was a nice experience staying in tent for a night. The owners are friendly and always ready to help. However cleanliness should be maintained and the quality and taste of food need to be improved.

Baba's Cafe offers you more than you ask for. People, food and ambience of the place is perfect in its own way. Helpful/chatty staff goes out of the way to make sure you are having a good time. The place is bit isolated but that goes for everything in Hampi. I loved my stay and will be visiting it again very soon!!!

It is a very nice place to chill and stay there is small river near it where ppl come and chill the food over here is very tasty the portions are good as well . The owner of baba cafe are really very nice and helpful they are very sweet. The vibes of these place is very cool and chill.

Amazing host amazing location, just that if you're planning to visit city side of Hampi this is not the place for you to stag but if you really want to enjoy the isolation, oh boy this place is the best you'll get in Hampi. Reddy and Pablo are amazing hosts there too!

I strongly recommend baba cafe for its river side view. I stayed in tent and had nice time there. tungabadra river is very near, and we can bath, practice yoga, relax there...Will definitely recommended baba cafe for solo travelers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Stay, Owner Mani and Arsh are very friendly, the best part about the place is , it is close to the river and the food is delicious. it's a small place but always crowded with the passing by travellers.
