Julley Iam the Founder of Spiti Civil Society and a social activist hailing from Spiti, Lahaul-Spiti district. I have been working for Tribal Welfare Rights for more than 10 years now. I have completed my post-graduation from Delhi University, deviated from a job life and returned to my ancestral village to work for the development of my tribal community. Spiti Civil Society is a collective advocating for forest land rights for tribal communities across Himachal Pradesh, especially Spiti. They work in all sectors from public grievance, health and education, public policy, economy, etc. They represent tribal voices from the local grassroots to the national level of parliament. I am also the President of the Spiti Project Society where we promote Responsible Tourism to create alternate economic opportunities for locals of Spiti. My wife is Sarpanch (Gram Pradhan) of local Panchayat and a very active woman of the region who is bringing significant transformation in the lives of local people by fighting for their rights.
