Ladakh Himalayan Retreat

Hi People, We recently came back from Ladakh trip and we have infinite infinitesimal memories to cherish from the region. But our stay in this hotel made them even more beautiful. Location: Hotel is located away from hustle bustle of the market but still not far from market. Leh main market would be approximately 1 kms from here. While coming from market, you can easily walk on the 700-800 metres of downward slope of Fort road. Hotel Exterior: Hotel building is very nicely constructed with the designer wooden blocks increasing the beauty. There is a big lawn to sit and relax and watch live streaming of matches. They have a screen placed in the lawn for this purpose. Hotel Interior: Interior of the hotel is very intricately designed with the touch of local culture and beliefs. Cafeteria, common areas and small library are available for customers. There is a small library with lobby on every floor. Carrom board is available on 1st floor. Room: We stayed in deluxe room and it was pretty good. Room is of decent size with all the amenities - double bed, chair, table, blankets, tv, dth, dressing table, central heating system, toiletries, etc. All rooms does not have balcony, so if you are looking for one please check while checking in. Staff: Hotel staff is courteous and prompt. They are professional and knew their job thoroughly. Hospitality is upto the mark and met our expectations. Food: We had dinner and breakfast few times and liked the taste of food. Only issue we had was availability of dishes. Menu is not that big and out of that many items were not available. This can be improved to provide more options to the customer. Special mention to Owner: This review can't be complete without a special mention to the owner of hotel Mr. Sonam Wangdus. He is the primary reason for the superb experience we had in ladakh himalayan retreat as well as our leh trip. We planned our trip on our own and so i asked him to provide quotation for innova cab from Chandigarh to Leh via Manali and then for Leh sightseeing. Communicated to him over calls and emails bugging him for price, itinerary and many small things. But he is a man of patience who listened to us with all humility. Even after reaching leh, we changed few things in itinerary and Mr. Sonam agreed to it and helped in making our trip, once in a lifetime trip. His customer centric approach was liked and appreciated by all of us. We would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel because of this person in addition to all the good features of the hotel.

The entire crew and their head were very hospitable. Received a warm welcome by their head alongwith a welcome stole since i was their first customer of the season. Since the season was just starting, most of the crew working there were localites but still the service provided by them was good. Their chief is a really nice man. As this was my first visit to leh and that too solo, chief kept asking me regularly about my health and if i was able to acclimatize properly. Only concern was no internet connectivity which as informed by chief was due to landslide on leh srinagar highway. I had an airtel SIM on which only 2G internet was working and that too close to the city centre. City centre is a 15 min uphill walk from the hotel. Overall the experience was good. We had heaters available in the room and dryers in the washroom

Not worth the money, pathetic staff support and amenities don't work. Issues I faced Hot water supply isn't available at the time you'll need like mornings and evenings simple amenities like shower gel, shampoo, dental kits are out of stock all the time. you've to push them to get it. wifi doesn't work.staff doesn't Support even if they can with available resources, a lady requested at 10 minute before time but she was denied and was asked to even stay away from plates and breakfast was ready.check-in are late, they won't support you with standby room and would keep you stranded if someone's check out is late. cab booking may get canceled at last moment. Breakfast is decent, dinner is just average.Everything

Hotel is good in average budget. Location is far from market and good with mountain view. Staff is very helping and supportive. I could not find them much informative as not informed about some visit changes like required to have lical permit to visit Nubra and Pangong. Even after getting permit, I was not informed about photocopies requirement for permit. Hot water and room heater were provided for 3 to 4 hours morning and evening. Very limited restaurant menu in April since there was no supply. Internet connection was not there due to services not available from BSNL.
