Namaste Cafe Cottage Gokarna

The overall experience of the stay was positive.The location was excellent.The room lacked a mini fridge. There is nothing wrong with anticipating a mini fridge.The front desk personnel were courteous and helpful.However, the restaurant staff had no idea what hospitality entailed. They pretended that we were there for free and that they were doing us a favour by serving us.When asked, the only reason given was "WE ARE BUSY."We also had the impression that the staff were dissatisfied with their jobs and were venting their frustrations on the guests.We smiled at our waiter, but he didn't return our smile.This happened to another foreign guest who was sitting next to us. He smiled at him, but the waiter didn't seem to notice.After considering all of this, we may visit the accommodation, but we will never return to this cafe. We would also advise everyone not to visit until these individuals improve their staff behaviour.

Namaste Cafe is a kind of Jungle resort. So, you have to go with clear expectations. 1. Basic Bathrooms with hot water, clean and hygienic. 2. Decently big room with a large balcony, A/C and fan. Decent cupboard. 3. clean lenin and towel. 4. A fridge. 5. Lot of greenery. 6. Resturant attached has huge menu. Continental dishes are best. Don't expect. 1. Fancy facilities like a swimming pool. (Instead the whole Arabian sea at your disposal to swim). 2. Toiletry. Just Medimix soap (₹5). 3. Roam service. Not even tea is served in your room. But they give tea bags and electric cattle. 4. No TV. Best thing. The restaurant attached to the property is on the beach side, so you can have dinner by the sea and enjoy the beach. Don't have to carry clothes to the beach to change. Just walk back to your room.

Duration - 4 Nights The rooms are not worth the price, looks 20 years old and not seen refurbishment. Bed sheets, quilts, towels and pollow covers were dirty - had to complain to get them changed. Too smaller room to even change clothes. Toilets were not cleaned when checked in. No covid - 19 control measure at all - a staff was caughing in the resturant area and was serving as well, no mask at all including the cafe manager. When complained masks were worn for namesake and back to normal in few hours without any mask and caughing while customers are having food. Please do not visit this place - checl new places and new properties in Gokarna which are much better than paying three four times higher than what it is worth.

The stay was good, but main problem is non availability of room service, even they've mentioned it before booking, but as a first time visitor to gokarna we thought there will be restaurants nearby and it won't be a much of issue. But there you will get only one option that is namaste cafe and to go there for food is a task itself. lot of stairs to climb and restaurant owner doesn't care much about you. He know that he is in monopoly and you don't have any other option nearby. Overall felt like a trap, better to stay near kudle beach
