Dune Mansion Calve

It was our first time in PONDY, my sister and I, we were skeptical about how the place would be but it turned out to be beyond our expectations. From the security who welcomed us with a warm smile to Kalanidhi who made sure everything was made comfortable for us to Hamesh who is the cook there and his lemon tea and French fries are out of the world ! Also, for breakfast here, please try Hamesh’s dosas. The stay was brilliant , a lil’ bit of both French and Tamil interiors, it has really cool names for every room. Rent a cycle or walk. We walked to almost all the cafès, walked to WHITE TOWN, which is the most happening place there. Promenade beach is just 700m from Dune. I’m definitely staying here again and again and again and again without a doubt. We loved Pondy to bits. Also, I wanna thank the manager for letting us stay in longer after the check out time.

Worst hotel to live in. Rooms have a peculiar smell, no hot water in my room and no mini fridge. Other room didn't have a tv. Sevice is extremely slow and staff need a lot of training. Manager Suresh never showed his face even once . Hotel is mostly left in the hands of service boys. Breakfast is average and chef shuffles between Dune mansion and dune L'orient.so at times breakfast is made by the boys who take care of the hotel..

The hotel ambience is fantastic as it brings you to a old French colonial times. Every detail of the room and setting was perfect. But there is no TV, kettle, coffee tea, fridge, hair dryer..expected for the price. Breakfast is very average. Common areas could be better ventilated and cleaner. Parking could be a problem as it is roadside on a small lane.

Stayed in a small room. Ambiance is great with ancient feel walkable to beach.
