Hotel Eden

I will not complain about the cleanliness or size of the rooms because it was good.But it was the ATTITUDE of the reception staff at the hotel and their restaurant which considers the guests as perhapsMy total stay was for 4 nights in the hotel. On the second night I decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant (which is next to the reception in the ground floor of the hotel). After finishing my dinner I just wanted to walk just outside the hotel to digest my food. The manager of the restaurant came running behind me with the bill, as if I was some cheat who had eaten in their restaurant and was trying to escape without paying the bill. I explained to the restaurant manager that I was a guest and staying for 4 nights at the same hotel. However the manager insisted that I come back to the hotel and sign the bill for the dinner. I tried to tell him that the bill could be sent to my room for signature, after I came back from my walk. But he didn't listen to me.Similar attitude of distrust against the guests occurred on the last date when we were leaving. We were to leave shortly after finishing our breakfast (which was complimentary). Before coming down for breakfast I phoned the reception to keep our bills ready since we would leave after eating breakfast. After breakfast when I went to the reception to clear the bill, the receptionist had not made the bill. She told me that she was not sure if I had consumed anything from the minibar in the room. I confirmed to her that I had not taken anything from the minibar. But she insisted upon sending the hotel staff to check.Thereafter I went up to my room to pick up my luggage and vacate the room. Before I could enter my room I found the hotel staff trying to unlock my room door with his master key. When I enquired why he was doing so, he told me he was instructed to check if I had consumed anything in the minibar.Anyway, he checked the minibar and I collected my luggage and came back to the reception to clear my bills. I told the receptionist that the hotel staff has already checked my room minibar and nothing has been consumed. Therefore I requested her for my bill. Despite my telling her all this, SHE STILL DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!She was trying to call the hotel staff to verify if indeed what I was telling was the truth or not!THEREFORE I CONCLUDE THAT HOTEL EDEN HAS SEVERE TRUST ISSUES WITH THEIR GUESTS!We pay good money to stay in a decent hotel. We deserve to be treated with a little respect and not be distrusted as if we were cheats or criminals who are trying to cheat the hotel or run away without paying the bills.I DOUBT I WILL STAY IN THIS HOTEL, THE NEXT TIME I COME TO KARWAR!

Very nice property in Karwar..13 minutes walk from main city staff is very good & cooperative The reason for giving 4 stars we had early check-in at 9 am we were charged half of romm tariff and we checked out at 5.30 as our flight was at night and they charged us full tariff where as my previous stays in other hotels in Karwar they just charged me 500 rs and some hotels didn't even charge like aman international, sterling & aditi comfort

I had a wonderful experience at the EDEN Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues. I thank once again Mr Wilfred and Ms Carol for their constant support throughout my stay. They very supportive as per rules and regulations.

I had a mixed experience as the reception staff is very good. But my AC was not working and it took them four visit to confirm and get room changed. service is super slow as they have problem serving RO normal water, refilling the breakfast though you have paid for it. providing only one towel in suite room.
