Messed around our booking! We booked this hotel in advance. When we arrived at the site (which was difficult to find and had no sign at the entrance) a staff member came out and spoke to our auto driver. We thought we were in the wrong place and he was giving directions. The auto driver drove off towards the main Hampi town, and we had to stop him as we were getting further away from the location. We then called the hotel and the guy said he was sending us to another homestay he owned somewhere else as his rooms were fully booked. He hadn't told us this in advance, or even when we were at his property (although he did speak English), and instead had just told the auto driver. The new place we went to was not even close to the standards, with none of the facilities. It was only when we requested a partial refund after looking up the price of the new place online that he agreed to give us a refund of 1200 rupees. We had a nice stay at the new hotel, but felt annoyed that we hadn't been informed of these changes in advance, or even been properly kept in the loop on the day.
