The Grand Shiva Resort & Spa

A Day/Night of Pathetic experiences at probably one of the most Terrible Hotels I have visited throughout my Travel Journey. To start with while making my booking, I saw this Hotel which had a covered Pool area and since I had a Kid along I preferred for this Hotel. I called the Hotel on 15th Day time & specifically asked if they have the Pool working and only then I would be booking the Hotel, they said YES it is working fine & hence I made the booking. On 16th  I again made a random call to the Hotel and asked if the Pool is functional just to ensure if they say NO, I could cancel my booking and make a booking in some other Resort/Hotel but they assured me that its in working condition. I made these repetitive follow ups because I already had one such experience in Amritsar where when we checked in the POOL wasn’t in working condition. We reached the Hotel just to find out that the POOL isn’t functioning, I went to the reception and there was this lady  (Post - FOE) & she informed me that its not working, that moment it was such a set back for me because we had organized the whole Trip for a cozy Pool fun with family at Rishiklesh. I told them that I had called on 15th then you said its working, that Lady said that it stopped working on 16th only. Writing this complaint/review on 20th May 19, I am still to hear from them on this. In all this we had already wasted 1-1.30 hours in the reception area. Such being the Pathetic hospitality of the people there they didn’t even put our luggage in the rooms or offered some water or even being apologetic about the whole issue. One thing they kept on saying is we wont be refunding any money, you can call whosoever you want and neither we can fix this issue. On getting irate I even told them that I had called on 16thLunch time as well then that lady said Yes Sir it was working then, the Pool got out of function today morning only (i.e, 17th May 19)_ that’s when I realized they were just fooling around with us, the pool probably wasn’t operational from the very first instance when I called them (i.e., 15th May 19).  The staff here is extremely POOR. Since we had already paid the money & had no option left now, we checked in to the Hotel. The ACs were not working in the rooms for which we had called the Reception but no one turned up. Then we had to walk down from the Cottage area to the Reception and ask someone to come, finally someone came and got it fixed. Around 5PM we were about to leave for the River Side and by locked the cottages & came out just to find out that the cottages weren’t opening with the Keys provided. We again went to the Reception to get this fixed & they said there is some technical problem because of which this is happening, we will just fix this. They said they have updated the software and its done now. You can go and open the cottage, but it still didn’t open. We again went to the Reception & irately mentioned this experience to them. The lady there again so blank faced, no apology nothing at all. Just said wait there I will send someone there is some issue with the software. I have travelled places throughout my life but never have I ever witnessed such impolite, inconsiderate staff, not at all Hospitable. We finally went to the river side at 5.45PM and came back around 7.30PM. We decided to go to te Rooftop now to party at night since the weather was a little good. We all informed the Reception staff that we are going up so please provide for some chairs and A Table. We waited upstairs for about half an hour and no one turned up. Since there was no option to call from there, we decided to come back down as we were now certain that it’s a big blunder we have done booking this Hotel. We came down to the Cottage area now to do a gathering, initially there was an attender there to whom we asked to provide Soda, Bottle of water, Ice cubes and some snacks. Not to believe but all their staff was extremely lazy & mis-managed. He came back after 45mins that too after making repetitive reminder calls at the Reception. When he came back with our Order, out of 2 snacks he got 1 and said he forgot the Order. We seriously didn’t know what to do and with a small Kid with us we didn’t even want to get hyper and spoil the night for us all.  We waited and waited, another time we made an order for Spring Roll and Chicken 65, he forgot chicken then got it again. That was the kind of night it was. Worse was that at the time of sleeping even the experience wasn’t pleasant, since we had a small Kid along we wanted an extra Pillow for which we called the house keeping thrice but never got the pillow whole Night. Coming to the Food part, the buffet (Breakfast) does have options but food is mediocre. Would rate it 3/5. The Rooms hardly have an good quality experience about them but the Cottages do have. Cottages have a small Garden area in front where Kids can play and the cottages look luxurious too. I would really not recommend a Luxurious stay IN THESE COTTAGES at the expense of highly terrible service. I would myself never like to see the Faces of that Guy AFAQ and the Lady again in my Life. Inconsiderate behaviour even after knowing a 1 year old Baby is travelling along

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile, which made me feel very welcomed. The food served was delicious, fresh, and had a variety of options to choose from, which added to the overall comfort of my stay. What truly made my experience special was the breathtaking view of the mountains and hills from the hotel. Waking up to such a peaceful and scenic view was truly refreshing and unforgettable. Overall, everything—from the hospitality to the food and the natural surroundings—was excellent according to me. I am happy to give this hotel a full 5-star rating and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a relaxing and memorable stay.

Pros - Rooms are clean and we'll maintained. food is also good with quick room service cons - Remote location 40 mins drive from Rishikesh Main point They charge too much for local sightseeing, pickup and drop.. it is like .. per day for just covering few points nearby Pros - 1.Rooms are clean and well maintained. 2.Food is also very good with quick room service cons - 1.Remote location 40 mins drive from Rishikesh Main point and in night it is difficult to drive due to lot of road constructions. 2.They charge too much for local sightseeing, pickup and drop.. it is like 3k per day for just covering few points nearby

It was a memorable 2 nights stay in The Grand Shiva Resort & Spa... Got a good deal on GoIbibo... It's a very good property to stay with family... Kids play area, Swimming pool, Lawn, plenty of parking space... Hotel location in Shivpuri... Everything is good about it... Only the food is little expensive and kids related stuff like balls, racquet, swimming tube are not available for kids.
