Wanderers homestay | Mountain-view Rooms

Incredible experience!! This was my visit to Recong Peo/Kalpa region after 7 long years. Back then the choice properties for stay were limited. Cut to 2024 you've got a place like the Wanderers Homestay - the biggest and best USP of the place is Sudhanshu & family, they make you feel at home, a true homestay experience. All the rooms of the property are valley facing. You get incredible views of the snow capped mountains right from your bed. The room got equipped with all needed facilities. Getting hot water 24/7 during February winters (average temperature -5 to -7°C) is commendable. The room was spacious and had a cozy balcony. You get good wifi. The property being a homestay doesn't have a hotel like kitchen. However, you'll get two delicious meals (breakfast & dinner) cooked by Sudhanshu's mother. This is best opportunity to taste simple home cooked pahadi meal. Last but not the least was listening to Sudhanshu and his father's tales from the hinterland of Kinnaur. Special thanks to Sudhanshu for pickup from the bus stop. He dropped me and a fellow guest in the wee hours of the day, a cold morning clocking -7°C. Wanderers Homestay is one of those rare places in today's business oriented world were you walked as a guest but leave as family. Definitely recommended!!

First of all, I would like to state the fact that this probably is the best homestay in Reckong Peo. Location: This homestay lies in between Main Market Chowk and Peo Bus Stand. The location is so strategically placed that it is certainly the most attractive property nearby. Views: Here views are so spectacular and near and huge. From each room you get an astounding view of Kinner Kailash Range such that you can't get enough of it. Rooms: The rooms are so clean and well managed I couldn't believe it myself the first time. Towels are clean and smell free. Slippers are provided as well. Blankets and quilts are provided. Heaters are also available (if needed). Food: Oh well, Mr Negi Ji(Father of Sudhanshu Negi - the owner of homestay) is an excellent cook. Apart from an excellent cool he is the most wonderful human and the most humble. It is the most homely and spice-balanced food I had in whole Kinnaur-Spiti Journey. Costs: Food and stay costs are minimal and certainly worth for the price it is offered. Just call Sudhanshu whenever in Peo and I am sure he will help you out with anything possible. Stay at his place and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for two night during our spiti tour. This place is at Rekong Peo town, about 15 km before the Kalpa village, at a posh area near Market & Administrative hub . The town itself seems less hyped than its potential. The property is nicely located with good infrastructure & provided excellent hospility. The Kinnaur Kailash range was visible from the room/ balcony throughout our stay. Food was also delicious with very reasonable price. This place can be opted for the tourists who have no prereserved bindings to stay at kalpa as all the important tourists place of kalpa can be covered within half day from this place. Altogether, we had a memorable stay here.

One of the best homestays I have ever experienced. Only 50 mtrs of the main road from Reckong Peo to Kalpa. Ample parking space, excellent, cost, with balcony rooms exactly facing the Kinnaur Kailash range (on a clear say you can see the Kinnaur Kailash). Super comfortable bed, pillows, blankets storage space, slippers, soap, fresh towels provided. Hot water kettle, mosquito repellent available. Treks and hikes can be arranged. Excellent dining space ambience. Both veg and non vegetarian options. Sudhanshu, the host is very knowledgeable, helpful, always available. Would definitely like to be back again
