Golden Park Hotel Heliopolis Cairo

I am non Egyptian and stayed for 6 nights from 15th to 21st sept on official work with colleague in 2 junior suite rooms. This is my second stay in this hotel. My observations in this second stay which was really unsatisfactory is as follows. 1. Indifferent attitude towards **** customers. - the manager did not have courtesy to even smile at us although was around us. - when an Eqyptian customer is around he was doing some bit of talking to them, smiling etc. This is not how you treat international clients. 2. The room did not have water and tea kit even though there is kettle. When we addressed this, 2 small bottles and tea kit was given. Note, this was for ONE day only out of 6 days stay.. as per their policy. 3. Poor wifi in second floor. After 3 days we were told by frontdesk staff that they would change room. It never happened. I suppose it is overall speed issue. This is not a serious grouse... 3. The housekeeping staff although clean the room and fold the strewn clothes. They would not keep new soaps even if old is over used. After 5th day when the soap had exhausted I had to scream at house keeping who delivered a soap. I had kept used towels on bath room floor indicating it needs replacement. It was not done. One 4th day I put a note on a tissue paper writing CHANGE on it and it was removed. I personally do not require towels everyday. We could dry and reuse and save water for the earth. However, dirty towels after 2 to 3 days when dropped down should be replaced as per any hygiene standards. 4. Many such similar grouses I wanted to address to hotel owner. But the front desk would not give me that access. They said speak with manager. I expressed I was not keen, and he immediately expressed which appeared like ok I don’t care and walked off in the office behind front desk. 5. Later I came to know that the owner is a lady who would in the higher floors. Anyway we were busy with our work till end of day that I could not give theses inputs. Overall I could see that non-hospitality attitude of such managers and hotel would affect tourism industry of Egypt in general. This is my view from this second stay here. Good points: The 2 room service boys Abano and Micheal where helpful in addressing the needs. Abano was very courteous boy and helpful. Micheal was helpful in resolving the door lock issue and got the mechanic to fix it. They are worth the mention of good service attitude. The manager can learn a bit from them. 2. The Breakfast fare was simple and good. Staff was very good is clearing and taking order for omlettte and serving it quick. I saw the tall chef checking on food and I ordered the omelette with specifics and it was delivered perfectly. There are good service oriented people.. Overall, I am not sure to recommend this hotel to international client. Anyway I don’t want to pass a judgement since I only experienced only 6 different hotels in last 5 years in Heliopolis region. The other 5 hotels were 5 star and hence better. I am not sure what star this hotel could be rated, but it should live to its rated stars. I hope the team improves and me or my colleague may visit Egypt again and we may get chance to stay here again Inshallah! All the best to the team who would take these inputs and improve.

Good location and nice and clean rooms with supportive staff. Surely recommend to friends and family.
