Check-in Time: 2 PM Check-out Time: 12 PM

The hotel staff was extremely disrespectful. Check-in: We were a group of 5 people and had booked 3 rooms well in advance (more than 30 days ahead). When we arrived, the reception staff refused to have our reservation. **, it took them more than an hour to allocate rooms to us (We had arrived at 3 PM in the afternoon. It was not an early check-in). ** hotel staff acted like a jerk. Ultimately, they provided us 2 rooms while we had booked for 3 but thankfully, 1 of the rooms was a family room and could accommodate up to 4 people. Food: While waiting for the rooms, we were hungry and order food at the bar area. The food did not arrive for 45 minutes after we placed the order. When we asked the server, when can we expect the food. He replied "I don't know. I don't work in the kitchen." The server's rudeness alone is enough reason for a very bad dining experience. Further, when the food arrived an hour late, the quality and taste was extremely disappointing. Service: The biggest reason why I am giving a the lowest rating is the staff's behavior. The check-in staff during our stay kept telling us how we had paid far below their prevalent rates and what a favor he was doing to us by letting us stay at the property. Yes, we got a good deal for the booking (that was before this horrible experience) **. Through my profession, I stay 100 nights in a year in hotels across the world (in Starwood, Marriott, Hilton, Taj) and I know a thing about hospitality and it is customer service. It is the single most important part of the experience that can turn a terrible stay into a decent one. The management at Sundaras would be served well by training their staff to provide better service. And this was a one-off, because the rest of our stay in Sri Lanka was great and we enjoyed staying at the other hotels and resorts as well as the Airbnbs.
The resort is in such an area that there is no connectivity to the main Dambulla city. We had to stay in the property only for poor connectivity. Food service is available but it was a bit costly and vegetarian items is very less available. However the cleanliness of the room and the washroom was perfect.
I have stayed in the property and my overall stay was very nice there. The behavior of the hotel staffs were very helpful. Hotel amenities were also nice. I had food over there and the quality was good. The property was located in a proper place which was very convenient for me.
The services and the facilities were good but it can be much improved. Food service is available but Indian food availability is less in the property, however the food quality and taste was both good.
It was near to the highway so location was OK. Staff was co-operative. Food was good. Swimming pool, gym and spa were also available. Free Wi-Fi was available. It was a secure place.
Pros: Great pool, location is awesome, property is well maintained and clean. Cons: Ridiculously high prices for Dinner buffet, breakfast very average, Wifi is not stable in rooms
